AIDA – Don Bosco Job Placement Network Hosts Successful Job Fair in Dimapur
Dimapur, March 18, 2025: The ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) Don Bosco Job Placement Network, Dimapur, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Employment: ST/SC Kohima, National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled, Dimapur, Employment Exchange Dimapur, and Model Career Centre Dimapur, successfully organized a job fair at the AIDA Conference Hall, AIDA – Don Bosco.
The event aimed to provide job opportunities for young people in and around Dimapur while raising awareness about local and state employment opportunities for the youth. The primary objective was to offer one-on-one interview experiences and connect participants with potential employers.
Rev. Fr. Dr. Roy George SDB delivered the welcome address, greeting the special guest and other dignitaries. He introduced the AIDA JPN's work since its inception in 2019 across Nagaland and the Northeast region. Highlighting the organization's contributions, he shared AIDA JPN's achievements for 2023-2024 and acknowledged AIDA's significant role in serving the region for over four decades.
The job fair was formally inaugurated by special guest, Shri. R S Siipuni Pou, Sub-Regional Employment Officer, Kohima - Govt.of Nagaland. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of building strong employer-employee relationships and encouraged participants to present their best during interviews. He commended the organizers for initiating such a valuable event for the district.
Shri. Gideon L Sumi, District Employment Exchange Officer (DEO), Dimapur, shared insights on starting careers with small yet meaningful steps. He informed the participants that over 72,000 unemployed youth, who have completed Class 10 and above, are currently registered with the employment exchange. In Dimapur and Chumukedima districts alone, over 27,000 unemployed youth are seeking job opportunities. He also shared inspiring success stories of individuals who achieved career growth by starting with small steps.
Other Guest present at the job fair was Mr. Abdu Saleem TK, Rehabilitation Officer, Ministry of Labour and Employment, DGE NCSC for Different Abled, Government of India and Ms. Yapangsangla, Young Professional (YP) Dimapur District, Employment Exchange Department.
Participating companies engaged directly with job seekers, offering insights about their hiring processes and available opportunities.
Mr. Sebi Chacko, Regional Coordinator of AIDA – Don Bosco Job Placement Network, Dimapur, shared motivational insights for candidates and expressed gratitude to collaborators, media partners, recruiting partners and volunteers for their support in making the event a success.
The job fair provided a platform for candidates to engage with HR representatives, resulting in several candidates being shortlisted. The fair attracted over 60 participants, with more than 100 job vacancies available. Four companies attended the fair in person, while one participated online. The event proved to be a resounding success, creating valuable connections between job seekers and potential employers, further showcasing AIDA – Don Bosco Job Placement Network’s dedication to fostering career development in the region.
