Inaguration of Gram Seva Kendra

As part of the SBI Gram Seva Programme implemented in 5 adopted villages by ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA), Don Bosco, under the Chumoukedima Sub- Division of Dimapur District, namely, Khriezephe, Tsithrongse was formally inaugurated on 6th February 2021.  Digitalization is one of the focus areas of the Gram Seva Programme and GSK is centre to it. Facilities like Wi-Fi, computer, scanner cum printer, LEDTV, Inverter and battery, Furniture, Almirah, Notice board, spiral binding, newspapers/ magazines and stationeries were provided in GSK for the usage of youth / students / Farmers / Women / community in general. The GSK which is a community information centre will help the community to avail all the facilities such as printing, photo copying and all other online services.
Dr. Pauline Alila, Professor, Department of Horticulture, Nagaland University SASRD, Medziphema who was the special guest for the occasion, emphasised the seed bank facility where the farmers can preserve the seeds and save them from extinction. She underlined the importance of sending organic products to out-lets like Mission Organic Value Chain Development (MOVCD) – NER. Further, she appreciated the efforts by SBI and AIDA, Don Bosco by opportunities to the villagers, and youth in particular. Rev. Fr. K.V. George  SDB, Principal – DBHSS, Khoupum, Manipur implored God’s blessings on the SBI Gram Seva programme. Mr. Pfokho John, the Program Manager, SBI Gram Seva – AIDA, highlighted about GSK.  While welcoming all the guests Rev. Fr. Roy George SDB, Executive Director- AIDA, thanked SBI Foundation for choosing the five villages presented by AIDA to implement this programme. He also thanked the village authorities and the concerned leaders for providing space to set up the GSK offices and their cooperation towards the Gram Seva programme. He also requested leaders and villages to fully cooperate with the AIDA team and make these 5 villages into model villages regarding integral development by implementing the SBI Gram Seva programmes well. Present on the occasion was also Mr. Novin Basumtory, the Director of SBI-RSETI, Jalukie. The program was chaired by Mr. Kelhouneikuo Medom and the vote of thanks was proposed by Shri Trsilongse Sangtam, VDB secretary at Tsithrongse village and Mr. Novise Kajiri, SMC, Chairman at Khriezephe Village.
