ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) – Child Friendly Dimapur organized one day Child Rights Club Leaders training program on 20th July 2024 at AIDA,conference hall. The training was organized with an aim to enhance their awareness on Child Rights, leadership, and The training sessions covered: Communication Skills: Importance of communication, barriers to effective communication, ways to improve communication skills, active listening, effective speaking, and body language. Identifying and Addressing Child Rights Issues: Fostering inclusive environments, challenges for marginalized children (poverty, discrimination, unstable home life), and empowering children as leaders. Empowering Children as Leaders: Skill building, decision making, advocacy, addressing child rights violations, reporting, intervention, and prevention. Identifying Child rights violations in education, health, and protection, and advocating for change and Education on emergency and assistance services in India.
The training program featured both input and practical sessions, including video presentations, Power point presentations, group activities. During the evaluation at the end of the session highlighted that the children has gained insights on the 4 guiding principles of United Nation Convention for the Rights of the Child, communication skills and a better understanding of the issues faced by children in India and their own localities.
Resource persons for the training included Ms. Mechietonü Agnes Kiso, Civil Society Mobilization Officer, CFD; Sr. Jisha Joseph, Children Mobilization Officer, CFD; and Mr. Gaisanglung Kamei, Civil Society Mobilization Officer. The program was facilitated by Ms. Shemang S. Phom. A total of 31 Child Rights Club leaders from various localities in Dimapur and Chumoukedima attended the program.
