AIDA - Don Bosco Job Placement Network, Dimapur, in collaboration with Don Bosco College, Kohima; Ministry of Labour and Employment: National Career Service Centre for Differently Abled, Dimapur and ST/SC Kohima; Fernandes and Associate, Goa successfully organized job fair on 24th August 2024, at the Don Bosco College, Kohima. This event aimed to provide job opportunities for young people in and around Kohima while raising awareness about local and state employment opportunities for the youth. The main objective of the event was to offer job opportunities and one-on-one interview experiences for the youth in the region and create awareness about available jobs in the locality and the state.
The inaugural session began with an invocation by Rev.Fr.Christudoss Antony SDB,Director of Computer Centre and Campus Administration of Don Bosco College Kohima followed by a welcome address delivered by Rev.Dr.Fr.Tious Varghese SDB,Principal of Don Bosco College Kohima offering valuable insights into the opportunities of the job fair and encouraged the aspirants to seize the opportunity.Thereafter time was given for a brief introduction by the companies-Toka MPCS,SBI Life, SeyieAuto, Employment providers, Frenandus and Associates(Goa), Quesscorp India, WICE Chennai, Chaiwaale Chennai and few schools of Assam.Following this the key note address was shared by Mr. Savio Visa, Additional Director of Employment, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship.He expressed feelings of pleasure on seeing a great number of aspirants and coneyed an inspiring message to the youths emphasizing the importance of employment.
Mr. Sebi Chacko, Coordinator of Don Bosco Job Placement Network Dimapur then expressed his gratitude in the vote of thanks. He expressed appreciation to all the organizers, supporters, collaborators, special guests, volunteers, and partners who contributed to the success of the event. He highlighted the significant contributions of the ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) organization and the AIDA - Don Bosco Job Placement Network (JPN) to the event's success.
The program provided a platform for candidates to interact with HR officials present at the event. During the interviews conducted by the organizations, several candidates were shortlisted from the numerous applicants who registered and attended the fair. The job fair saw a turnout of over 500 candidates on this particular day, with more than 1000 job vacancies available. Six companies attended the fair in person, while two others participated via online The job fair was a resounding success, offering a valuable opportunity for local youth to connect with potential employers and demonstrating AIDA Don Bosco Job Placement Network’s commitment to facilitating career development.
